Ministries

Whatever your talents or passions, there’s a place for you at Bandera Methodist Church.

Adult Small Groups

A variety of adult Sunday School Classes meet on Sunday mornings at 9:45 am, between our two Worship Services.  Click here for more information.

There are often small groups, such as Bible Studies, that meet during the week on a limited basis. Please contact the Church Office to learn about current offerings.

Bandera Methodist Women (BMW)

BMW is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to extend concepts of mission through participation in local and global ministries. The unit meets each 2nd Thursday of September through May at 9:30 am in the Fellowship Hall. There is a program or speaker or service project each meeting as well as time for fellowship and refreshments. Please contact the Church Office for more information.

Children's Ministries

Our Children’s Ministry is uniquely designed for children newborn through 5th grade. We believe children are a blessing from God and we are passionate about creating an environment that is safe, age-appropriate and fun where the Bible is taught in a creative and relevant way allowing children to grow in their relationship with Christ.

Cut Ups

The Cut Ups of themselves are not a “Mission”, but an organization that sponsors a number of missions. This group of crafty ladies meets periodically to share their handiwork, complete projects for the church community, socialize, and enjoy refreshments. Laughter with one another and most important – “Love” is exchanged. Contact the Church Office for more information.

Dexter Project

The Dexter Project is an outreach for youth (3rd through 12th grades) enrolled in Bandera County agricultural programs such as 4H or Future Farmers of America (FFA). It provides a way for interested students who lack the acreage, financial capability, or training support to prepare and show cattle. The use of the Dexter small cattle breed and the guidance of BMC members make this program possible. A detailed description of the project’s objectives and responsibilities can be found here.

Harvest Ministry

Harvest Ministry is a way for BMC to both feed the hungry and share the good news of Jesus Christ in the community. In cooperation with Hill Country Daily Bread in Boerne, Harvest Ministry distributes food and other items to families in the Bandera Community. Every other Friday they pick up food from a warehouse in Boerne and bring it to the church. Then on Saturday morning, they sort the items for families to pick up. We are praying for more involvement from church members on Saturday mornings and Friday evenings of our distribution weeks. We would love for you to come out and see what we do and how you can help! Contact the Church Office for more information.

Helping Hand of Bandera County

Bandera County Helping Hand, operating at the Village of Hope in Bandera, provides direct assistance for Bandera County families and individuals in need, who are facing a crisis in their lives. Bandera Methodist Church supports their efforts by collecting food or clothing items monthly, making monetary contributions, and helping staff the “Red Kettle” at Christmas. Please contact the Church Office for more information.

Ignite Student Ministries

Our Student Ministries are dedicated to providing a place for students in Junior High through High School to connect with God, with other students, and with older committed leaders that are dedicated to seeing students grow closer to Christ. We believe that you can’t do life alone, and that our students are at a unique time of life where they can grasp the gospel and the impact of having the life of Jesus in their lives.

Kid's Kingdom

Kids’ Kingdom is an exciting, dynamic preschool and ministry of the Bandera Methodist Church. We provide children, aged 3-5, a solid and fun pathway to God and academia both! Preschool basics, plus virtues, manners and the like are taught alongside the wonderful revelation that Jesus loves all the little children of the world.

Each new school year, the Kids’ Kingdom preschool class starts down their familial-path towards learning life, loving Jesus, experiencing school, and living in new relationships with each other and with Jesus. Classes meet from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm on Tuesday and Thursday.

If you feel moved to do so, we gratefully accept donations to our program, as we are 100% funded by annual tuitions and fundraising.

Please email Susan Freeman for more information.

Music Ministries

The music ministry at Bandera Methodist Church offers many opportunities for involvement across all age groups.

The Chancel Choir provides music for our Traditional Worship at 11:00 am on Sundays.

The Jubilation Handbell Choir provides special music monthly at the 11:00 am Traditional Worship Service on Sundays.

Prayers, Packages, and Greetings (PP&G)

PP&G is a ministry of support for deployed armed forces members. Quarterly they send a small package filled with homemade brownies, daily needs, and seasonal items, along with cards or letters from church members. If you know of deployed Armed Forces members who should be included in this outreach, contact the Church Office with your name and phone number, and their name and address. The service member need not be a church member or from the local area.

Snac Pac 4 Kids

Snac Pac 4 Kids is a volunteer organization with a mission to ensure local elementary school children in need don’t go hungry during the school year. An individual weekend meal package (Snac Pac) is provided to each eligible student for 34 weekends during the school year.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry is the one-to-one lay caring ministry that takes place in congregations that use the Stephen Series system. Stephen Ministry congregations equip and empower lay caregivers—called Stephen Ministers—to provide high-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting. If you would like to participate as a Stephen Leader, Stephen Minister, or Care Receiver, click the link below.
